I live in rural Japan. Kimono are usually worn for special occasions such as weddings, “coming of age” day, and other celebrations involving formal wear. I really enjoy seeing them at the large Shinto Shrine near where I live. I am happy to see the tradition kept alive. Thanks for posting this.
