Serena Cole

Serena Cole is an artist from Oakland, California. She is “attempting to critique our ideas of beauty and idolatry through the use of obsessive colored pencil detail and fluid, fantastical watercolor washes.”

And I must say I think she’s successfully doing so, with innovative techniques that makes one rethink how they look at what is traditonally considered to be beautiful. Do not doubt your eyes, the faces and expressions in her latest work are indeed distorted and just slighty off in a way that adds to the quirkiness and beauty of the subject.
