Artist Love: Fuco Ueda
Fuco Ueda is a female surrealist artist from Japan. Along with James Jean, she is one of the few artists who continues to mesmerize and inspire me with her consistently beautiful work. The technique and skill in her painting is amazing, the subject matter borders on the macabre yet always remains feminine, sensual and captivating.

Junko Mizuno teamed up with French label Judith Lacroix to release a small edition of tshirts featuring Junko’s characters. The tshirts have some of her most popular designs reworked with new colors, glitter!! and french phrases. The first tshirt on the top is amazing. I absolutely love the red glitter and the teal blue combination. I really want to buy it except for the fact that the tshirts are priced at 49 euros and that exchanges to a little over $75 USD!!! I love Junko and have spent A LOT of money hunting down her toys on ebay, buying out of print manga and all of the typical crazy super fandom, but $75 for a tshirt is too much for me atleast now. But my birthay is around the corner. Anyone anyone?
Visit Judith Lacroix for more info and purchase the tshirts.
Dunny Series 5 Preview
I was reading Tokyobunnie and came across her post about the new Dunny Series 5 that will be released from Kid Robot this fall. Looked at Vinylpulse to get a little more info but the release date for this series hasn’t been announced yet. If anyone has info to share that would be great!
The second Dunny from the left is OBVIOUSLY Junko Mizuno. Great to see her working with Kid Robot again. Her Dunny looks amazing and I can’t wait to pick one up.
Love It Alot
I got a fabulous little write up on my Etsy shop by my friend Leigh over at http://www.loveitalot.com
As you may already be aware my Etsy shop is relatively new and any support I get is greatly appreciated. I have a dream to share my art and ideas with the world and can’t begin to thank all of the wonderful people in my life for helping me realize that dream!
I want to thank Leigh for her support and definitely want all of you to check out Love It Alot. It’s a great blog with tons of cool posts on fashion, art, trends and culture. Check it out!!
Immature
“Have patience with everything that remains unsolved in your heart. Try to love the questions themselves, like locked rooms and like books written in a foreign language. Do not now look for the answers. They cannot now be given to you because you could not live them. It is a question of experiencing everything. At present you need to live the question. Perhaps you will gradually, without even noticing it, find yourself experiencing the answer, some distant day.”

Back in Business!!

After what seems like ages, I have finally come off my “break”. Simply meaning that I have become situated enough in my new apartment that I can get back to work!
First off, I have updated my Etsy shop and added a bunch of prints and some buttons. I only have 5 x 7 prints at the moment but will be adding 8.5 x 11 and 11 x 14 sizes hopefully sometime by the beginning of August.
Secondly I will be having an art show at the end of this month with my roommate Dan at Division East in Montclair, NJ. My roommate is a very talented musician but also happens to be an equally amazing artist. You can check out his music here: myspace.com/espeeone
My other roommate Sheena is putting together the entire event. It’s one of the things she does best! I don’t have an exact date and time to give you, but so far it will be the last Saturday of this month. I of course will post the final info when it becomes available.
And finally I just found out I will be apart of the Metropolitan Artist Expo at Mexicali Live in Teanack, NJ. So be sure to come through!!

Artist Love: Angelique Houtkamp

“Classic old school tattoo imagery mixed with mythological dreams, anthropomorphed critters, nautical iconography and hollywood romance”
The art of Angelique Houtkamp is classic and new in the same breath. Something about tattooed women has always fascinated me, maybe it’s the juxtaposition of tough and feminine and I think Angelique captures that perfectly in her work.
